Solve your 3 Biggest Barriers to Losing Weight in 2023

I have been working in the fitness industry for 15 years.

Since starting as a fitness coach and working with so many clients over the years, I have learned a lot about what it takes to solve some of the biggest problems people face when trying to lose weight & keep it off.

In fact, they are a lot easier to solve than most people think. You just need to change how you're thinking about them.

Here they are, and how to solve them:

1. Poor Eating Habits

You usually get super motivated and plan to change your entire eating routine overnight. You buy new containers, food to prep and a new lunch bag only to flame out after 2 weeks.

Instead of the same old story focus on making small improvements. Clean up 1 meal each day whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner. You'll find this is much more manageable and sustainable for a longer period. Once you master that meal then move on to the next!

2. Lack of Physical Activity

You barely go to the gym now and your planning to start going 4 times a week next week? Yea I doubt it. You'll last 3-4 weeks just like last year and then it will turn into an endless cycle of working out for 3-4 days straight and then nothing for 2-3 weeks.

Instead trying to turn into a gymrat tomorrow; Do less more often, no gym needed. Just get moving more often, even if it's for 10 minutes a day. That will be more than you cumulatively completed last year, it's the consistency that changes us not the intensity

3. Lack of Consistency

Look you cannot say you go to the gym or eat healthy if it's less than 50% of the time. If you make better food choices Monday & Tuesday but fall completely off for the rest of the week that's not consistency.

Let's just focus on making it easy & convenient to stay on track. In his book Tiny Habits, Dr. B.J. Fogg supports the premise that small seemingly insignificant changes daily over time is what creates the lasting changes we are after.

I get it, you want the results yesterday but trying to run the marathon in 10 minutes won't get you there. You'll just end up burnt out, frustrated and less likely to even try again. So let's try something different.

Let's get to it!
